Andrew attended Occidental College where he double majored in Fine Art and Politics. After graduating he worked in film production and spent much of his time traveling.
As a developing photographer he amassed thousands of landscape and architectural images from over 11 countries and the western US. 1998 Andrew had an opportunity to merge his ten years of computer design skills with his photographic passion.
Digital photography had developed into a practical studio production method. Andrew was hired to work at the nations first large scale fully digital advertising production facility for the Robinson-May Corp. In 1999 Robinson-May committed their fashion studio to the fledging digital single capture technology. Andrew was instrumental in the development of these systems and the creation of the photographic digital workflow.
In the fall of 1999 Andrew joined renowned European photographer Neil Kirk’s Los Angeles production team. Andrew has been a contributing
part of Kirk’s campaigns and editorial production from capture through digital post.
As digital post became the norm Andrew’s experience in the medium catapulted him to the forefront of image post and pre-press preparation. Andrew and partner Stewart Price formed Digital Retouch, a beauty and fashion retouching company serving “A” list celebrity and fashion clients (see clients below). Digital Retouch has grown and now has offices in NY, LA, and Paris.
Fashion catwalks are home turf for Andrew, a regular on the fashion circuit as a key member in a runway alliance producing images for clients from Wire Image to Senken-Shimbun.
Andrew mentors and friends include three generations of masters: Jerry Schatzberg, Neil Kirk, Tom Watson, and Tony Duran. Andrew has won numerous awards, has published in a dozen magazines, and has had two showings of his fine art.
Andrew is currently based in New York but keeps a home in Los Angeles where he promotes and enjoys the advantages of local west coast production. |
